A particularly lovely handwoven version of our Patch scarf to cheer up a winter´s day! Deep red merino wool (it´s a darker cooler red than in the product photo) combines beautifully with the very subtle and complex green-grey of the oak-dyed lambswool. The texture of this scarf is fine and almost silky and a hand-finished fringe and woven selvedge complete the high quality finish of this special scarf. Don´t miss the opportunity to enjoy this unique piece!
Do you know about traditional handmade Welsh and North Spanish folk textiles; they have a character and vitality rarely matched by modern industrial textiles although they´re often quite coarse. Our Patch design is our take (in soft yarns!) on an old Welsh patchwork quilt, heavy and thick, made with fragments of worn and rough woollen tweed suiting. We bought it in Ludlow years ago, on the Welsh borders, on impulse. We just fell in love with it and have enjoyed it for years. We hope our Patch scarves leave you feeling the same way. Each version is subtly different – being individually made by expert hands on our wooden handlooms.
